Prodding the Muse

An urge to scrawl
Calls from deep within
Riding waves of ennui
Over the will to begin!
Something stirs
Through my fog of
Indolence
Carpe Diem!

Speaking in Haikus
To the one who sleeps and dreams
Prodding the poet

Cinquain
Precise, disciplined
Challenging, digging, questing
Pulsing, poetic, pulchritudinous, promise
Elucidation

Diamante
Ice-cold sharp
Sparkles entices attracts
Carbon baseball jewel carat
Shapes cuts slices
Clear lucid
Gem

A couplet to awaken the poet
Who is present but is pressed to show it.

To taste and see that all is well
And even to engage the sense of smell
One must listen to the inner voice
And touch imagination’s words of choice

Not really retired but reshaped and reshaping. Now a pilgrim at large ready to engage with what each day brings.
