Makes the hackles on the back of my neck stand up. Being married to an asylum seeker gives one a whole new perspective!

Once one has engaged in conversation and shared some pain and laughter and hope and generally traveled even part distance with those escaping oppression, one cannot be unaffected by the politics of repression.
